What happens to ghost gear recovered through Project ReCon?
Tangaroa Blue Foundation works with numerous partners to facilitate the recovery and removal of ghost gear.
In many cases, recovered gear may pose a biosecurity risk to Australia. We work closely with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry to manage, prevent, and mitigate these risks during handling and disposal.
