Will Project ReCon GPS buoys track my vessel if I host a buoy?
No. Project ReCon buoys are used exclusively to track ghost gear and don't transmit until you give the go-ahead.
While the buoy is onboard your vessel, it is powered on but not transmitting. Once the buoy is deployed on ghost gear, contact projectrecon@tangaroablue.org to let us know we can begin transmitting and tracking the gear.
